Principal character from the "Witcher" franchise based on the series of novels by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.  More recently the central character in the 2012 xbox 360 game release "Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings".

Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, essentially a monster hunter for hire. Witchers are individuals who from an early age, receive special training and body modification to ensure they not only survive but kill the many dangerous monsters they face.  In Geralt's case his natural resistance to this conditioning has left him without any body pigmentation, leaving many to call him the White Wolf. Geralt lives in an largely immoral and lawless age, yet somehow he manages to maintain his own code of ethics.
