(Shivers strongly)

Is that a golden saint in the second picture...!?

PS
In spite of Morrowinds many flaws it is still better than Oblivion.
As I see it, Oblivion is an RPG for people can't or don't want give thought to the playing experience. You have a bloody compass arrow guiding you trough the realms of oblivion for crying out loud!

PPS
Beautiful animation though...

I love both of em, but surprisingly haven't played either for aeons, but your right morrowind made you realistically work to find a spot... , hell the storms were good too....

Don't get me wrong. I to have spent countless hours playing Oblivion, and they where well spent ones.
The compass thing isn't that bad.
What I dislike the most is the
hero level\creature streinght relationship.
My Oblivion character was a BattleMage of lvl 34, strolling trough a forest, only to find him self locked in an epic battle whit a brown bear.

...Why am I whining.? It was fun playing, and it will be once more.

...they're very strong bears, with armour piercing claws.... mind you I don't remember looking for armour piercing bears, but then Bethesda know best, that's probably why they never released a plugin to fix it.. any self respecting, life loving bear would leave a level 34 battlemage walk on by....

Armor piercing indeed. They went right trough my enchanted Daedric mail. Not to mention strong. Even my spell, "Touch of Dagon" which makes 200 dmg and drains 100 (kills under 300), couldn't take even half it's health. I mean...

(later in a whole different setting)

... Hello, my name is Nikolas and I am an Oblivion addict.

(he's so brave.. maybe i should say something.... no.. i'll wait till the next meeting...)

im just here to check the meetings out for a friend... that scenario you describe though is bloody off putting... and totally destroys the immersion in the game.. .
